Temporary injectable fillers

Photorejuvenation | Peel | Wrinkles | Injectable fillers: Temporary

New Product : Juvederm

The two types of temporary injectable fillers used at the Clinique Jean Gilbert are Botox® and Juvederm®.

Botox®, or Botulinum toxin, is a naturally purified substance. To erase wrinkles caused by repeated facial muscle use, Botox® is injected into the muscle to stop its contractions. This attenuates the appearance of wrinkles and prevents them from deepening. Wrinkles between the eyebrows or on the forehead are the ones most often treated with Botox®. The effects of Botox are generally visible 3 to 7 days after the treatment and they last from 4 to 8 months. You can repeat the treatment as needed.
Restylane® is a transparent gel containing hyaluronic acid, a substance found in the human body. Restylane® is injected in areas where the concentration of this acid is low, such as the lips or the cheeks. Once this filler is in your skin, the body’s hyaluronic acid is activated and its volume increases. The effects of Restylane® are generally visible immediately after the injections and their durability varies according to your skin, your age and your lifestyle. However, in the majority of people treated, 50% to 80% of the effects of Restylane® were still visible 8 months after the treatment.

The most common side effects from Botox® and Restylane® are brief and reversible; they do not last more than a few weeks. . If you have other questions, do not hesitate to make an appointment with the Clinique Jean Gilbert. You will receive a personalized consultation during which we will give you the complete details of the procedure that is most suitable for you.
