Treatment of hyperhidrosis

Do you suffer from hyperhidrosis? This excessive sweating in the hands, armpits or feet can be a cause of embarrassment and worry.

Botox®, or Botulinum toxin, is used to treat hyperhidrosis. This toxin completely blocks the transmission of a substance called acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter affecting the sweat glands. The sweating stops 2 to 3 days after the injection and the effect of Botox® lasts about a year. The treatment can be repeated as needed.

The side effects are practically nonexistent and you will able to resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment. If you have other questions, do not hesitate to make an appointment with the Clinique Jean Gilbert. You will receive a personalized consultation during which we will give you the complete details of the procedure that is most suitable for you.
